" All my messuages, lands, tenements ... in Langham to Mary my wife during her natural life
" Then all that messuage and tenement wherein I now dwell called the BLEW BELL (= Blue Bell) and the stable belonging thereto (including "liberty to lay take and carry away at all times muck dung and other things in the east part of the yard from Anne Massingham's home to the walnut (walnutt) tree next the wall there") and half or east part of the orchard from the said walnut tree against the wall to where a stake is or will be put down, to my two sons James and Joseph ... share and share alike as tenants common and not as joint tenants. Nevertheless ... (payments) to their two brothers Frost Massingham and Edmund Massingham.
" After my wife's decease, ... all that my shop and barn situate in Langham with (rights to lay carry away anything ... east part of the yard), ... to my son John Massingham, with a charge of £5 to Easter Massingham his sister.
" After my wife's decease, ... the north end or part of my other messuage or tenement standing across or towards the west end of the yard to the said Easter my daughter.
" Also ... the south end or part of the said messuage or tenement standing across or towards the west end of the yard to Mary my daughter "in case she shall live to attain her age of 21 years" ... (otherwise it goes to Easter)

Bastadry order (microfilm MF/X/280/8 at Norfolk Record Office) made by the parish of Watton, Norfolk for the birth of Charlotte Massingham's illegitimate daughter:
... upon the complaint of the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Watton ... as upon the oath of Charlotte Massingham, single woman, that she, on or about 19th June now last past was delivered of a female bastard child in the said parish and that the said bastard child is now chargeable to the said parish and likely so to continue; and, further, that William Lockwood of Watton did beget the said bastard child on the body of her ... (the Justices then judge William to be the father and charge him) 28 shillings for expenses incident to the birth, 7 shillings for costs of apprehending and securing William Lockwood and the order of filiation, 18 pence per week to the churchwarden and overseers of the poor for maintenance of the child. (Charlotte Massingham was also charged 6 pence per week)
